The Europe-ENVIROCOM organisation presents the five nominees
of the European Video Clip and multimedia Festival on the Environment
(1998-1999). This festival, for the organization of which it was
responsible, took place in Neuchâtel (Switzerland), around the
theme "Europe: a reference continent for environmental protection?".
Some 25 contestants from the whole of Europe took part in the
competition. The best 15 clips were submitted to the jury. The
jury was

presided by Jean-Michel Liechti, head of the "Service cantonal
neuchâtelois de l'environnement"; it was otherwise composed of
Violaine Barrelet, member of the Neuchâtel communal council, Thomas
Bucher, representing the"Office fédéral de l'environnement, des
forêts et du paysage", Xavier Ruiz, independent producer (Geneva)
and three representatives from the Europe-ENVIROCOM committee,
Jacques-André Tschoumy, René Longet and Jean-Luc Vautravers. The
jury nominated the following winners, who were rewarded with cash
prices for a total amount of 14'000 Swiss francs.
